Cookies and localStorage
The code in these pages does not create HTTP cookies. When you choose “Close and remember”, it uses localStorage, a separate browser storage mechanism. The stored value is not attached to server requests by this code.
| Key and value | Purpose and duration |
|---|---|
brexbynzit_notice_v1Value: seen | Remember closure of the notice. No programmed expiry; retained until you remove it or your browser clears it. |
Your choices
- Close and remember: saves the preference and closes the notice.
- Close without saving: closes the current notice without writing a new preference. It may appear again after navigation or reloading.
- Storage preference: the footer button opens the notice again.
Remove the saved preference
This button removes only the key used by this notice. You can also clear site data in your browser settings.
If browser storage is blocked, the site displays a message when you try to save. You can still close without saving.
Opening HTML files locally
When you open HTML files directly, localStorage behaviour depends on your browser and may vary between pages. Pages hosted under the same origin share that origin’s localStorage. The code does not sync your choice between devices.
